Just below is the trailer and poster for the upcoming April 6, 2012 3D re-release of Titanic. You know, the movie that won 11 Oscars back in 1998 and made over $600 million domestically and over $1.8 billion worldwide. That was before inflated 3D ticket prices (something it will gladly take advantage of 15 years later) and when people seemed to actually still go to movies. So I’m sure most, if not all, of you have seen the film, but apparently you need a reminder what it’s all about.
Now, mind you, I say this as a huge fan of Titanic, but my recollection of the film tells me it’s about Jack, Rose and a giant boat that sinks in the ocean. Granted, that’s an over-simplification as Billy Zane is obsessed with a giant diamond and the “Unsinkable” Molly Brown loves tossing in a jab or two, but for the most part it’s about Jack, Rose, Jack, Jack, Rose and Rose… and Jack as “King of the World.”
Maybe this trailer would be worth watching in a theater, where it would also be in 3D, but to debut a trailer for a 3D release on the Internet just seems… stupid. But hey, that’s just me… have a watch below and see if you see anything you recognize. Who knows, maybe you’re one of the eight people in this world that hasn’t seen it yet and you need a bit of convincing.
