I really liked Eli Roth‘s Hostel, that said, I really hated Eli Roth’s Hostel Part II. One was a story with a point, the other was an exercise in sadism without a point… at least as far as I was concerned and I’d like to believe the majority of the people that saw Hostel 2 agree with me.
That said, there was something about Hostel 2 that didn’t quite work for audiences as the first film took home over $47 million domestically and the second couldn’t even crack $18m. Now, four years later, Hostel Part III is on its way as a direct to DVD release set for December 27. Happy Holidays!
The film is directed by Scott Spiegel and would appear to have nothing to do with hostels but instead just take the torture genre another step further as a group of guys are taken captive in Las Vegas after being lured away from their bachelor party by a couple of escorts. They end up in the hands of Elite Hunting Club who are hosting a torture party. Yay!
