Ryan Gosling Stars in the Trailer for ‘The Ides of March’ Directed by George Clooney

I am growing more and more excited to see this movie. Why? For starters, I love the poster for it, which you see above, and Ryan Gosling‘s stock is continuing to rise as far as I am concerned. I was never a huge fan of his, but after Blue Valentine, Drive and even Crazy, Stupid, Love (a film I didn’t really like, but his performance I enjoyed) I am all aboard the Gosling train. Plus, a political film directed by and starring George Clooney is something that simply gets my ears to perk up.

The film is The Ides of March, an adaptation of the Beau Willimon play “Farragut North,” that takes place during the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary, when an up-and-coming campaign press secretary (Gosling) finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to upend his candidate’s (Clooney) shot at the presidency. The film co-stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, Jeffrey Wright, Max Minghella and Evan Rachel Wood.

I will be seeing the film at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and it is also set to open the Venice Film Festival at the end of August before its October 7 release. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.
