If you saw my post “Whatever, You’ll Pay to Go See It…” featuring a trio of “South Park” movie trailer spoofs then you already saw Trey Parker and Matt Stone making fun of Adam Sandler’s upcoming film Jack and Jill in which Sandler plays Jack Sadelstein as well as Jack’s identical twin sister, Jill.
Jack is a successful advertising executive in Los Angeles with a beautiful wife and kids, who dreads Jill’s yearly Thanksgiving visit. Jill’s neediness and passive-aggressiveness is maddening to Jack, turning his normally tranquil life upside down. Katie Holmes plays Erin, Jack’s wife.
I’m sure most will draw comparisons to Eddie Murphy’s multiple-personality films as well as say this looks like one of the films Sandler’s Funny People character was embarrassed to be a part of, but here it is nonetheless. Directed by Dennis Dugan (You Don’t Mess with the Zohan as well as several of Sandler’s films since 1996) and co-starring Katie Holmes, Al Pacino, Shaquille O’Neal and Nick Swardson, Jack and Jill hits theaters on November 11 when it will most likely go on to make over $100 million.
