20th Century Fox has revealed eight new images from their upcoming film Rise of the Planet of the Apes and along with that The Sun has provided a new UK quad poster as well as a new international trailer. The new stills can be viewed in the slideshow directly above or in our gallery right here and the rest can be viewed at the bottom of this post.
The film is set in present-day San Francisco and apparently reveals the origins of the war that ultimately led to the 1968 original Charlton Heston film in which the Earth became the Planet of the Apes. The film was directed by Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist) and stars James Franco, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox, Don Cheadle, David Oyelowo and Tom Felton. Fox will release it in theaters on August 5.
