I never saw Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead, but I really liked Wrong Turn 2 despite hating the original starring Eliza Dushku. For those unfamiliar to the now-direct-to-video Wrong Turn horror franchise, it centers on a group of inbred mutant mountain men (that’s hot!) that get their rocks off killing anyone that may wander into their West Virginia wilderness hunting grounds. Yeah, we’re not talking high art here, but when done right as it was in Wrong Turn 2, it can prove to be a lot of fun.
Now looking around, it looks as if Wrong Turn 3 was a dud based on reviews and I was smart for avoiding it, but one can hope Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings will actually be good. To kick off the marketing campaign I just received a “franchise trailer” as well as the below teaser poster for the flick. This will again be a straight-to-video release with the DVD and Blu-ray hitting shelves on October 18.
The film was written and directed by Wrong Turn 3 helmer Declan O’Brien who appears to gravitate toward these lesser-than features as he last directed Sharktopus for SyFy. The cast is just as obscure as it includes Terra Vnesa, Dean Armstrong, Tenika Davis, Kaitlyn Wong, Jennifer Pudavick, Kristen Harris and Victor Zinck Jr.
