Brand New ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ Trailer

The moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived, the chance to more completely judge Michael Bay’s latest installment in the Transformers franchise as he ratchets up the explosions, adds new robots and delivers metal-crunching action in 3D.

The theatrical trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon is just below. Does it look like more of the same insanity we got from the first two installments or does it look like Bay and screenwriter Ehren Kruger were able to learn from their mistakes and the critically blasted Revenge of the Fallen?

With the trailer also comes a bit of a flimsy plot synopsis that reads:

Shia LaBeouf returns as Sam Witwicky in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. When a mysterious event from Earth’s past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us.

Beyond that, what I am pretty sure of is that this film will have something to do with the moon, Megan Fox has been replaced by Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Leonard Nimoy will voice Optimus Prime’s brother Sentinel Prime and along with LaBeouf, familiar faces such as Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, Kevin Dunn and Julie White are back with some new faces including John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Ken Jeong, Patrick Dempsey and Alan Tudyk.

Other than that, I offer you some pictures from the gallery up above and the new trailer directly below. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon hits theaters on July 1.
