A trio of new trailers for three of 2011’s upcoming smaller, yet intriguing films arrived today and all three are festival standouts.
First is the sci-fi drama Another Earth which deals with the story of two lives that become intertwined as the world deals with the discovery of a duplicate Earth. It stars William Mapother (“Lost”) and Brit Marling (Sound of My Voice) and was widely acclaimed at Sundance this year.
The second film is Submarine which has been compared to Juno, Wes Anderson films and 500 Days of Summer, which tells me this thing is going to be slammed on one side and adored on the other. Watch the trailer and tell me which side you think you’ll fall on.
Finally, Attack the Block was loved at South by Southwest as I wrote about last month. The film stars Nick Frost, Jodie Whittaker and Luke Treadaway and was picked up for domestic release by Screen Gems though no release date has been announced as of yet.
