Disney has announced the first trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will debut in 3D on December 13, 2010, at AMC Downtown Disney Theatre 12 in Anaheim, California, as part of an exclusive “Pirates Fans First!” event. You can enter to be included by “liking” Yahoo! Movies on Facebook or entering the sweepstakes here.
However, if you want to avoid all that you can keep an eye out here on RopeofSilicon around 1 PM Pacific Time on December 13, which is when the trailer will be made available online. The choice is up to you.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hits theaters on May 20, 2011 when Johnny Depp returns to his role as Captain Jack Sparrow as he crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), he’s not sure if it’s love — or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.
