Quiver Distribution has shared official Off the Record trailer for its newest music drama, starring Veronica Mars’ Ryan Hansen as Brandyn Verge and singer-actress Rainey Qualley (Love in the Time of Corona) as Astor Grey. The movie is scheduled to make its debut on May 2, 2025 in theaters and on digital platforms.
“The film follows Astor Grey, a rising singer-songwriter whose life takes a dark turn when she enters a turbulent romance with washed-up rock star Brandyn Verge,” reads the officialy synopsis. “What begins as a whirlwind love story unravels into a gripping tale of manipulation and resilience as Astor fights to reclaim her autonomy and music. The film offers a compelling exploration of the high stakes in the music industry.”

What happens in the Off the Record trailer?
The video introduces an up-and-coming artist whose fairytale romance with a rockstar becomes a dark tale of manipulation, after her career gets suddenly threatened by someone who wants to control her life. The film will also star Rebecca De Mornay as Kate, Olivia Sui as Noelle, Julia Campbell as Rosemary Grey, Will Peltz as Huxley, Montanna Gillis as Stassi, Danny Dolan as Hobie Ashman, and Sarah J. Bartholomew as Greta, with cameos by Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Peyton Manning, and Edgerrin James.
The film is written and directed by Kirsten Foe, who is also serving as a producer. The R-rated drama has a total runtime of 95 minutes or 1 hour and 35 minutes. It is executive produced by Jim Irsay, with Gabe Rodriguez producing. The creative team also includes cinematographer Em Michelle Gonzales and editor Shayar Bhansali, with composer Lyle Workman providing the music.
