Pixar has released a brand new Elio trailer, previewing the celebrated studio’s upcoming animated movie about a young boy going on a space adventure. It is set to release on June 20, 2025.
What happens in the Elio trailer?
The new trailer for Elio showcases more of the space adventure set to occur when Elio (played by Yonas Kibreab) finds himself beamed into a spaceship filled with alien life and mistaken for the leader of Earth.

Elio is directed by Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi, and Adrian Molina. Mary Alice Drumm produces the film. The voice cast features Yonas Kibreab as Elio, Zoe Saldaña as Olga, Elio’s aunt, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, and Shirley Henderson as OOOOO.
“The original feature film introduces Elio, an underdog with an active imagination who finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe, and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be,” the plot description reads.

Elio was originally supposed to be released in United States theaters on March 1, 2024; however, it was delayed in October 2023 as a consequence of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike.
