What happens in the Lilo & Stitch live-action trailer?
The Lilo & Stitch live-action trailer sees the titular alien, who is voiced by Chris Sanders, find his way to Hawaii, where he meets Lilo, played by Maia Kealoha. The two of them quickly form a bond despite the fact that Stitch is a bit of a menace, while the trailer also offers a quick glimpse of Agent Pleakley’s alien form. Pleakley is played by Billy Magnussen, while Dr. Jumba Jookiba is portrayed by Zach Galifianakis. The footage sees both of them appear in human form, presumably as a disguise they use to blend in while on Earth.
Additionally, the cast of the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie includes Sydney Agudong as Nani Pelekai, Tia Carrere as Mrs. Kekoa, Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles, and Hannah Waddingham as the voice of the Grand Councilwoman.
The movie is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, who previously made a 2016 documentary called Fraud before making 2021’s Marcel the Shell with Shoes On. The script comes from Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes, while Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin serve as producers. Executive producers are Tom Peitzman, Ryan Halprin, Louie Provost, and Thomas Schumacher.
The Lilo & Stitch live-action remake will be released in United States theaters on May 23, 2025, from Disney Studios. The original Lilo & Stitch, meanwhile, is currently available to stream on Disney+.
