Paramount Pictures has shared the final Novocaine trailer for its newest action comedy featuring The Boys star Jack Quaid as an ordinary man who has an extraordinary rare condition called congenital analgesia. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters this Friday, March 14.
“When the girl of his dreams is kidnapped, everyman Nate turns his inability to feel pain into an unexpected strength in his fight to get her back,” reads the official synopsis.

The video shows off some of the positive reviews that the movie has been getting after making its world premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival. The trailer also continues to highlight some of Quaid’s action-packed fight sequences, teasing his character’s inability to feel any kind of physical pain.
According to film critic Jonathan Sim of ComingSoon, “this film is viciously entertaining, offering non-stop fun that moves at a phenomenal pace. It’s a brilliant concept that’s executed to its maximum potential.” At the moment, it has already garnered a Tomatometer rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 32 reviews.
Novocaine is directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen from a screenplay written by Lars Jacobson. The cast includes Amber Midthunder, Ray Nicholson, Betty Gabriel, Matt Walsh, Lou Beatty Jr., Van Hengst, Conrad Kemp, and Jacob Batalon. The film is produced by Drew Simon, Tory Tunnell, Joby Harold, Sam Speiser, Matt Schwartz, and Julian Rosenberg, with Paul Barbeau, Glen Basner, Josh Adler, Lars Jacobson, and Alison Cohen serving as executive producers.
