Control Freak Trailer: Star Wars’ Kelly Marie Tran Leads Hulu Horror Movie

Hulu has released the official Control Freak trailer for its newest horror thriller movie, which will be led by Star Wars: The Last Jedi star Kelly Marie Tran. The film will be available for streaming starting on March 13.

Tran is best known for her role as Rose Tico in Lucasfilm’s Star Wars sequel trilogy. She will also next be seen in the upcoming romantic comedy movie The Wedding Banquet, with Saturday Night Live’s Bowen Yang and Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone.

What happens in the Control Freak trailer?

The video features Tran as an overworked motivational speaker, whose life starts to turn into a nightmare after constantly being tormented by an unrelenting itch on the back of her head. The trailer also teases some of the film’s terrifying sequences, including frequent appearances of an unknown creature.

Control Freak is written and directed by Shal Ngo, based on his short film Control from the second season of Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween. The cast also includes Miles Robbins as Robbie, Callie Johnson as Crystal, Kieu Chinh as Aunt Thuy, Zack Gold as Mason, Scott Takeda as Dr. Chen, Toan Le as Sang, Chelsea Parsons as Rachel, Stanley White Jr. as Sanshi, Samantha Coppola as Ashley, and more. The film is produced by David Brooks, Jenna Cavelle, Arbi Pedrossian, Hatuey Rodriguez, and Shaum S. Sengupta, with Miles Alva serving as an executive producer. The creative team also includes cinematographer Scott Siracusano and editor Dagmawi Abebe.
