What happens in the Sacramento trailer?
The Sacramento trailer sees Cera’s character, Glenn, embark on a road trip with his buddy Ricky, played by Angarano, following the death of Ricky’s father. Stewart plays Rosie, Glenn’s wife, who encourages her husband to go on the road trip.
“Following the death of his father, energetic and free-spirited Rickey (Angarano) convinces long-time friend Glenn (Cera) to go on an impromptu road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “Frustrated by Rickey’s Peter Pan complex, Glenn is encouraged by his pregnant wife Rosie (Stewart) to go on the adventure to reconnect. In the worn yellow seats of Glenn’s old college convertible, the two men confront their anxiety-ridden lives, addressing past mistakes and questioning what their futures hold.”
The script for Sacramento was co-written by Angarano and Chris Smith. Both of them also serve as producers on the film alongside Stephen Braun, Chris Abernathy, Eric B. Fleischman, and Sam Grey.
Maya Erskine (Pen15, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) also stars in the movie alongside Angarano, Cera, and Stewart.
This will be Angarano’s second feature film following 2017’s Avenues. He’s also starred in a number of other movies, including 2000’s Almost Famous, 2003’s Seabiscuit, 2005’s Sky High, 2011’s Red State, 2011’s Haywire, 2013’s The English Teacher, 2015’s The Stanford Prison Experiment, 2023’s Oppenheimer, 2024’s Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1, and more.
Having held its world premiere at the 2024 Tribeca Festival last June, Sacramento will be released in United States theaters on April 11, 2025, from Vertical.
