What is Armed about?
“A group of veteran marines steal a shipment of weapons from the military only to find a cold war era robot that hunts them down, determined to complete its mission,” the official synopsis reads. Nothing can stop this deadly killing machine.”
The screenplay was written by Terry Mcdonald. Along with Tucci (Death Hunt) and Amsbury (American Gods), the cast includes Mason Cromwell (Switched at Death) and Greg Johnston.
Keith Leopard, the president of Uncork’d Entertainment, said in a statement, “Armed delivers a thrilling ride from start to finish in this gripping paramilitary heist story. We’re excited to bring this high-energy film to audiences who crave both original sci-fi and action content.”
Johnston, who is also the president of Rapid City Entertainment, added, “Rapid City Entertainment is delighted to collaborate with Uncork’d Entertainment for the worldwide release of Armed, a powerful Action-Sci-Fi Thriller, with an original music score as heart-pounding as the film itself.”
Mackay made his directorial feature film debut in 2012 with Battleground. He followed that up with 2017’s Sixty Minutes to Midnight, which was written by McDonald, before then making 2022’s Death Hunt.
In addition to Death Hunt, Tucci starred in episodes of Amazon Prime Video’s Reacher and Eli Roth Presents: A Ghost Ruined My Life, among other titles. He also played Sheriff Handley in the recent television movie My Mother Stole My Life.
Armed will be released on Digital and On Demand platforms on March 4, 2025, from Uncork’d Entertainment.
