What happens in the Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie trailer?

The Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie trailer sees the two stoner buddies embark on one final adventure together. While reflecting on their past and contemplating whether or not this new film should be classified as a fictional movie or a documentary, the two are seen driving a Cadillac — complete with a marijuana leaf hood ornament — while lost in the middle of the desert.

The official logline, per Variety, reads, “Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie defies documentary expectations, offering a wildly imaginative take on genre convention; a true-life tale told through a mix of animation and archival madness, all underscored by a classic cinematic road trip comedy. Tracing the enduring legacy of pioneering comics Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, the film features interviews, sketches, and never-before-seen footage spanning the duo’s five-decade career. The result is an unlikely story of friendship and fame, turmoil and defiance, rebellion and ultimately — redemption.”

Bushell serves as a producer on the film alongside Robbi Chong. John Paul DeJoria, Gary Hasseley, Cleo Segura Sherrel, and Christian Selleron serve as executive producers.

Cheech and Chong rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s, largely because of their stand-up routines. They have appeared in more than 20 movies together, with their on-screen debut being 1978’s Up in Smoke.

Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie will receive a limited release on April 20, 2025 (naturally), before it then expands nationwide on April 25, 2025, from Keep Smokin’.
