What is Eric LaRue about?

“In the film, Janice is coping with the fallout after her son murders three of his high school classmates. Struggling and moving through life as if in a haze, she is unable to let go of her anger and frustration,” reads the official synopsis. “While her husband has found refuge at a new church, Janice finds it hard to seek solace in her faith despite her pastor’s pleas to heal her wounds by meeting with the mothers of her son’s victims. As Janice ponders what that meeting could achieve for her and her community, ERIC LARUE asks audiences to witness the frayed emotional ripples that violent acts can engender.”

Eric LaRue is directed by Shannon from a screenplay written by Brett Neveu, based on the latter’s play of the same name. The film stars Judy Greer as Janice, Alexander Skarsgard as Ron, Alison Pill as Lisa, Tracy Letts as Bill, Paul Sparks as Steve, and Annie Parisse as Stephanie. It is executive produced by Declan Baldwin, Jeff Nichols, Meghan Schumacher, R. Wesley Sierk, Joh D. Straley, and Byron Wetzel, with Sarah Green, Kat Hartman, Jina Panebianco, and Ben Shafer producing.
