ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive La Pietà trailer, previewing the upcoming drama about a toxic mother and son relationship that’s pushed to its limits.
What happens in the La Pietà trailer?
The trailer highlights the story of Mateo and his mother, Lili, a pair that have been inseparable for a long time. After Lili is diagnosed with a fatal illness, however, the pair go to extreme ends in their relationship.
La Pietà is set to release on VOD, digital, and on the streaming platform Film Movement Plus on January 17, 2025.

La Pietà is written and directed by Eduardo Casanova, and stars Ángela Molina, Manel Llunell, Ana Polvorosa, and Antonio Durán ‘Morris’. Álex de la Iglesia, Carolina Bang, Florencia Franco, Jimena Monteoliva, and Antonio Pérez are all attached as producers on the film.
“Mateo and his mother Lili (Ángela Molina) have been inseparable for years,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “The two share an apartment, answer questions for each other, and spend practically all their moments together. But this bond becomes fraught when Lili is diagnosed with a fatal illness. With the limited time Lili has left, the pair take their toxic mother-son relationship to extreme ends.
