Never Look Away is directed by Lucy Lawless, star of the hit TV series Xena: Warrior Princess, and someone who’s starred in a litany of high-profile projects, including Battlestar Galactica, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, and more.

“Swashbuckling CNN combat camerawoman, Margaret Moth, risks it all to put the viewer inside the conflict,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “When a fateful injury gets in the way of her appetite for danger and adrenaline, Moth must find the strength to carry on.”

Moth first began her career in the 1970s as a news camerawoman. In 1980, she moved to the United States and worked for KHOU in Houston, Texas, before joining CNN in 1990. As a wartime photojournalist, she covered the Persian Gulf War, the rioting that followed Indira Gandhi’s assassination, the civil war in Tbilisi, Georgia, the Bosnian War, and other conflicts.

In 1992, Moth was severely wounded while filming footage in Sniper Alley in Sarajevo and suffered extensive injuries. Despite them, Moth continued to work in the area and would continue to work in the journalism field. Moth died in 2010 after a battle with colon cancer.
