Mary Trailer Previews Netflix’s Biblical Epic Movie Starring Anthony Hopkins

Netflix has shared the official Mary trailer for its upcoming biblical epic movie, which takes place after the birth of Jesus. The film will be available for streaming starting on December 6, 2024.

“Through Mary’s eyes, this coming-of-age biblical epic tells the story of one of history’s most profound figures and the remarkable journey that led to the birth of Jesus,” reads the official synopsis. “Chosen to bring the Messiah into the world, Mary is shunned following a miraculous conception and forced into hiding. When King Herod orders a murderous hunt for her newborn baby, Mary and Joseph, go on the run – bound by faith and driven by courage – to save his life at all costs.”

Who is in the Mary trailer?

The video introduces Noa Cohen as Mary of Nazareth, who, after miraculously giving birth to the son of God, must go into hiding with Ido Tako’s Joseph. It also features a closer look at Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins as Kind Herod. Additional cast members include Stephanie Nur as Salome, Susan Brown as Anna the Prophetess, Ori Pfeffer as Joachim, Eamon Farren as Satan, Hilla Vidor as Anne, Mili Avital as Mariamne, Gudmundur Thorvaldsson as Marcellus, Dudley O’Shaughnessy as Gabriel, Keren Tzur as Elizabeth, Mehmet Kurtulus as Baba ben Buta, and Mila Harris as a young Mary.

Mary is directed by D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, I Am Number Four) from a screenplay written by Timothy Michael Hayes. It is produced by Mary Aloe, Hannah Leader, Gillian Hormel, and Joshua Harris.
