Netflix has officially revealed the That Christmas trailer and release date for its upcoming animated fantasy movie, which will be part of the streamer’s 2024 holiday slate. It hails from Simon Otto, head of character animation on DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon trilogy.
“The film follows a series of entwined tales about family and friends, love and loneliness, and Santa Claus making a big mistake, not to mention an enormous number of turkeys!” reads the official synopsis.

When is That Christmas release date?
That Christmas is scheduled to make its debut on December 4, 2024, exclusively on Netflix. The film will feature the voices of Brian Cox as Santa Claus, Fiona Shaw as Ms. Trapper, Jodie Whittaker as Mrs. Williams, Bill Nighy as Bill, Rhys Darby as Mr. McNutt, Lolly Adefope as Mrs. McNutt, Alex Macqueen as Mr. Forrest, Katherine Parkinson as Mrs. Forrest, and Sindhu Vee as Mrs. Mulji.
The film is directed by Otto from a screenplay written by Richard Curtis and Peter Souter, based on Curtis’ charming trilogy of children’s books. This also marks as Otto’s feature directorial debut. Additional cast includes India Brown, Zazie Hayhurst, Sienna Sayer, Jack Wisniewski, Rosie Cavaliero, Paul Kaye, Guz Khan, Andy Nyman, Kuhu Agarwal, Bronte Smith, Freddie Spry, and Ava Talbot. It is produced by Otto, Nicole P. Hearon (Moana, Frozen) and Adam Tandy, with Locksmith Animation set as its studio.
