Exclusive Me Little Me Trailer: Eating Disorder Drama Will Help Aid Treatment

ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Me Little Me trailer, previewing the upcoming feature debut from writer-director Elizabeth Ayiku, to which Buffalo 8 has obtained the rights.

Alongside the trailer, it was also announced that Buffalo 8 will release the film on November 8, 2024, on a number of digital platforms, including Apple TV/iTunes, Amazon Prime, and other digital storefronts. A portion of the film’s Apple pre-sales (from November 1-7) will also be donated to Project Heal, whose mission is to break down systemic, healthcare, and financial barriers to eating disorder healing.

What happens in the Me Little Me trailer?

Me Little Me follows the story of Mya, a woman in the early stages of recovering from an eating disorder. As she goes through her life, she also must navigate the stresses of her work life, love life, and more.

“In the early stages of recovering from an eating disorder, Mya (Williams) faces isolation and rising stress as she’s promoted in a male-dominated industry,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “Struggling to balance her mental health, relationships, and demanding job, she is haunted by her past and overwhelmed by daily challenges. As her world unravels, Mya’s journey reveals the exhausting and lonely path to finding even a small sense of self-love.”

Me Little Me comes from writer-director Elizabeth Ayiku, who is making her feature debut with the project. The project is partially inspired by Ayiku’s own life and struggles. The film stars A’Keyah Dasia Williams, Shamar Phippie, Tamir Elbassir, Elena Kornilova, Xiaowan Jin, Frania del Carmen, Kristian Ventura, Kay Capasso, Mariel Flores, and Judith Eisenberg.

“I’m grateful to partner with Buffalo 8 to bring this film full circle,” said Ayiku in a statement on the upcoming film. “Their belief in me and the deeply personal story we are telling means so much.”
