The Brutalist Trailer: Acclaimed A24 Historical Drama Stars Adrien Brody

The first The Brutalist trailer for the A24 movie has been released.

The Brutalist is a new historical drama movie that is directed and co-written by Brady Corbet. Starring Adrien Brody, Guy Pearce, and more, the film will be released in United States theaters this coming December.

“Escaping post-war Europe, visionary architect László Toth arrives in America to rebuild his life, his work, and his marriage to his wife Erzsébet after being forced apart during wartime by shifting borders and regimes,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “On his own in a strange new country, László settles in Pennsylvania, where the wealthy and prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren recognizes his talent for building. But power and legacy come at a heavy cost…”

What is The Brutalist about?

The Brutalist premiered at the Venice International Film Festival this past September, where Corbet won the Silver Lion for Best Direction. It was also shown at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Along with Brody and Pearce, The Brutalist stars Felicity Jones, Joe Alwyn, Stacy Martin, Raffey Cassidy, Emma Laird, Isaach De Bankolé, and Alessandro Nivola.

Corbet wrote the screenplay alongside Mona Fastvold. Corbet previously made 2015’s The Childhood of a Leader and 2018’s Vox Lux, the latter of which starred Natalie Portman and Jude Law.

The film is produced by Andrew Lauren, D.J. Gugenheim, Brian Young, Andrew Morrison, Trevor Matthews, and Nick Gordon. The Brutalist has a runtime of approximately 215 minutes and includes a 15-minute intermission.

The Brutalist will be released in United States theaters on December 20, 2024.
