What happens in the Daddy’s Head trailer?
The Daddy’s Head trailer introduces viewers to a young boy whose father has recently passed away. The boy, however, begins to see signs that his father’s spirit might still be alive in some way as he begins to be haunted by some malevolent spirit.
“In the wake of his father’s untimely death, a young boy is left in the eerie solitude of a sprawling country estate with his newly widowed stepmother. Struggling to navigate the overwhelming task of parenthood, his stepmother grows distant, leaving their fragile bond at risk of collapse,” the official synopsis reads. “Amidst the growing tension, the boy begins to hear unsettling sounds echoing through the corridors, and is soon haunted by the presence of a grotesque creature bearing a disturbingly familiar resemblance to his late father. As the boy’s warnings are dismissed as the imagination of a grieving child, the sinister entity tightens its grip on their crumbling lives.”
Charles Aitken and Nathaniel Martello-White star in the movie alongside Brown and Turnbull. Matthew James Wilkinson and Patrick Tolan serve as producers.
Daddy’s Head marks Barfoot’s second time directing a feature film following 2017’s Double Date. In addition to directing and writing Daddy’s Head, Barfoot also edited the film and composed the soundtrack.
Daddy’s Head will hold its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on Sunday, September 22. It will then be available to stream on Shudder starting on Friday, October 11, 2024.
