Lionsgate has finally shared the official Small Things Like These trailer for its upcoming Irish drama, which will be led by Oscar winner Cillian Murphy. The film is based on Claire Keegan’s 2021 novel of the same name about Ireland’s horrendous Magdalene Laundries.
“While working as a coal merchant to support his family, he discovers disturbing secrets kept by the local convent — and uncovers truths of his own — forcing him to confront his past and the complicit silence of a small Irish town controlled by the Catholic Church,” reads the official synopsis.

When is the Small Things Like These release date?
Small Things Like These is scheduled to arrive in UK and Ireland theaters on November 1, which will be followed by its U.S. theatrical release on November 8. This comes after the film’s world premiere earlier this year at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival. It is directed by Tim Mielants from a screenplay written by Enda Walsh. The latter previously worked with Murphy in both the stage play and film versions of Disco Pigs.
The cast also includes Emily Watson, Michelle Fairley, Ciarán Hinds, Clare Dunne, and Eileen Walsh. The film is produced by Murphy, Alan Moloney, Catherine Magee, Matt Damon, and Drew Vinton. It is executive produced by Ben Affleck, Michael Joe, Kevin Halloran, and Niamh Fagan.
