What is Terrifier 3 about?

“Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve,” the synopsis reads.

The movie also stars Lauren Lavera, Elliott Fullam, Samantha Scaffidi, Antonella Rose, Margaret Anne Florence, Bryce Johnson, Alexa Blair, Mason Mecartea, Krsy Fox, Clint Howard, Jon Abrahams, Chris Jericho, Daniel Roebuck, and Jason Patric.

Leone has been telling stories about Art the Clown since 2008. The character first appeared in a short film called The 9th Circle, followed by another 2011 short called Terrifier. He was played by Mike Giannelli in both of these shorts prior to his retirement. The 9th Circle and Terrifier were both included in the 2013 anthology movie All Hallows’ Eve.

Art then got his first feature film in 2016’s Terrifier. That was followed by 2022’s Terrifier 2, which managed to be a gigantic hit at the box office as the movie grossed approximately $15.7 million off an estimated $250,000 budget.

Leone previously teased on X that Terrifier 3 would feature one of the most “horrific scenes” of the entire franchise. He wrote, “Can honestly say we just filmed one of the most insanely horrific scenes of the Terrifier franchise and you’ll never believe who couldn’t handle it on set. The bts is hilarious. Can’t wait for you all to see!”

Terrifier 3 will be released in United States theaters on October 11, 2024, from Cineverse.
