ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Duchess clip, previewing the upcoming action film from director Neil Marshall. Saban Films will release the movie on video-on-demand services on August 9, 2024.
Duchess is co-written by Marshall, Charlotte Kirk, and Simon Farr. Marshall is best known for the 2005 film The Descent, which is often regarded as one of the best horror films of the 2000s. He’s also known as the director of the 2008 cult hit Doomsday.
What happens in the Duchess clip?
The clip sees Duchess (Charlotte Kirk) visiting her father (Colm Meaney) in jail, with the pair discussing Duchess’ childhood. Duchess then tells her father she’s leaving and will be leaving her life behind. Her dad says that no matter where she goes, she’ll always be his daughter.

The movie stars Charlotte Kirk, Philip Winchester, Colm Meaney, Stephanie Beacham, Sean Pertwee and Hoji Fortuna. Duchess follows the story of a working-class petty criminal and her journey into an anti-heroine as she finds herself in the world of diamond smuggling.
“Duchess, a small-time crook, tries to enter the treacherous underworld of diamond trafficking and ends up left for dead when a deal goes wrong. Determined to seek retribution she launches into an unwavering pursuit for vengeance,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
