Searchlight Pictures has shared the A Complete Unknown teaser trailer for its upcoming Bob Dylan biopic starring Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet as the legendary musician. The film is expected to make its debut sometime in December.
“Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 60s, the film follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan’s (Chalamet) meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts — his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation — culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965,” reads the synopsis.

What happens in the A Complete Unknown teaser trailer?
The teaser trailer gives fans a first glimpse at Chalamet’s portrayal of Bob Dylan. It also previews the Dune actor singing his version of the music icon’s hit song “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall. The video also teases his scenes with Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, and Monica Barbaro, who will play the respective roles of folk singer Peter Seeger, artist Sylvie Russo, and singer-songwriter Joan Baez.
A Complete Unknown is directed by James Mangold from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jay Cocks based on author Elijah Wald’s book titled Dylan Goes Electric. The film also stars Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Nick Offerman as Alan Lomax, and P.J. Byrne as Harold Leventhal. It is executive produced by Dylan along with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Andrew Rona. Jeff Rosen, who is Dylan’s longtime manager, has also signed on as a producer with Mangold, Veritas Entertainment Group’s Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Peter Jaysen, Automatik’s Fred Berger, and The Picture Company’s Alex Heineman also set to produce.
