ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive The Abandon clip, previewing a scene from Lionsgate’s upcoming psychological thriller.
The film is directed by Jason Satterlund from a screenplay written by Dwain Worrell. Joining Rosenthal in this contained thriller are Tamara Perry, Regis Terencio, Priscilla Avila, and Dan Kyle. The Abandon is set to release in select theaters on July 19, 2024, and on demand and digitally on July 30, 2024.
What happens in The Abandon clip?
The Abandon clip features Jonathan Rosenthal’s character waking up in a daze, speaking to someone via a walkie talkie and trying to figure out what is in each other’s rooms. Rosenthal’s character finds symbols on the floor, which the pair deduce is an unfinished math equation. Before they can figure out more, though, the writings on the floor begin mysteriously scratching themself out.

“Injured U.S. soldier Miles Willis (Rosenthal) awakens after witnessing a blinding white light on a battlefield in Iraq to discover he is trapped in a mysterious cube armed only with his combat gear,” reads the synopsis. “His dire situation escalates as the cube begins to change with violent shifts in gravity and the appearance of cryptic writing on the walls. As Miles begins to question his sanity, he finds a lifeline – a voice on the other end of his satellite phone who claims to be a prisoner in a similar space. As the walls close in, these two strangers must put their heads together if they are to outwit their captors and unlock this deadly puzzle.”
