Neon has shared one final trailer for Longlegs, the upcoming serial killer horror movie starring Nicolas Cage. The film releases in United States theaters later this month.

What do we know about Longlegs?

“In pursuit of a serial killer, an FBI agent uncovers a series of occult clues that she must solve to end his terrifying killing spree,” the synopsis reads.

Cage is playing the serial killer who is being hunted by the FBI in Longlegs; however, Cage’s look in the movie won’t be revealed until the film comes out.

Director and writer Osgood Perkins told Entertainment Weekly about Cage’s look, “It’s driving people towards a freak show at a circus tent. We’ve got the thing behind the curtain, and when there’s enough people gathered ’round, we’re going to pull the curtain.”

Cage added, “It’s the equivalent of putting a warning label on a jar of nitroglycerin. The monster is a highly, highly dangerous substance. The way it’s moved, unveiled, deployed has to be treated very carefully. Forget about the movie theater blowing up; the whole city could blow up, nay the country, maybe even the world. He is going to change your reality. Your doors of perception are going to open, and your life is not going to be the same.”

Longlegs also stars Maika Monroe, Blair Underwood, Alicia Witt, Michelle Choi-Lee, Dakota Daulby, Kiernan Shipka, and Jason Day.

Prior to Longlegs, Perkins (who is the son of Anthony Perkins, who played Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho) directed 2015’s The Blackcoat’s Daughter, 2016’s I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, and 2020’s Gretel & Hansel. He’s now working on an adaptation of Stephen King’s The Monkey with Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, and Elijah Wood.

Longlegs releases in United States theaters on July 12, 2024, from Neon.
