Who stars in the Smile 2 trailer?
Kyle Gallner is reprising his role as Joel from the first film. The cast of the upcoming sequel also includes Naomi Scott, Lukas Gage, Rosemarie DeWitt, Dylan Gelula, Raúl Castillo, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley.
The film is written and directed by Parker Finn, who helmed both Smile and Laura Hasn’t Slept. Filming on the film began in January 2024 before production wrapped in March.
Gage said of Smile 2 in March, via ScreenRant, “It’s gonna be really good. I’m really excited for everyone to see that one. Doing a lot of sequels, it feels like, this year. The year of the sequel. I hope you like it. Parker Finn, the director of that, it was crazy how much he knows this genre of movies and how he was able to recreate it and make it fresh. It was such a cool formula to follow. How did nobody think to do that creepy smile face? My smile face is so good.”
Smile was released in United States theaters in September 2022. It was a huge hit for Paramount Pictures, bringing in approximately $217.4 million at the global box office off of an estimated $17 million budget. Along with Gallner, the film starred Sosie Bacon, Jessie T. Usher, Robin Weigert, Caitlin Stasey, Kal Penn, Rob Morgan, and Gillian Zinser. Smile is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Smile 2 is scheduled to be released in United States theaters on October 18, 2024, from Paramount Pictures.
