Exclusive I Am Gitmo Trailer Previews the Drama Based on True Events

ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive I Am Gitmo trailer for the intense drama movie that’s based on true events. The film is set to debut in select theaters on Friday, April 26.

“Following the events of 9/11, a schoolteacher in Afghanistan is arrested under suspicion of terrorism, and brought to Guantanamo Bay where he’s subjected to relentless interrogation and torture in I Am Gitmo, a stark, powerful and disturbing drama based on real events,” reads the movie’s synopsis. “Winner of a Jury Special Award at the 11th Annual Socially Relevant Film Festival and nominated for Best Film and Best Director at Spain’s Marbella Film Festival, it opens theatrically on April 26 as pressure ramps up for Gitmo’s eventual closure.”

Who directed I Am Gitmo?

The film was written and directed by Philippe Diaz and stars Sammy Sheik, Eric Pierpoint, Paul Kampf, Sean O’Bryan,, Hamzah Saman, Chico Brown, Kent Harper, and Iyad Hajjaj. The film was produced by Phillipe Diaz and Beth Portello and co-produced by Joe Bartone, June King, Kristin Nobles,, Apple L. TungFong, and Tiedong Zhou.

The movie’s cinematography is by Jose Zambrano Casella and it was executive produced by Steven Barough, Chico Brown, Jason Duan, and Satinder Garcha. I Am Gitmo has a runtime of 115 minutes or one hour and 55 minutes.
