Lionsgate has dropped the State of Consciousness trailer for the upcoming psychological sci-fi thriller starring Emile Hirsch as a man who, after undergoing a suspicious experiment at a mental facility, now has trouble differentiating reality from his nightmares. The film is slated to debut on March 15 in select theaters and on VOD.

What is State of Consciousness about?
“Where do you turn when your nightmares become reality? Stephen and Alicia are a happy young couple living a simple life until Stephen is accused of a mysterious murder,” reads the official synopsis. “Small town justice lands Stephen in a shady mental facility where an experimental treatment causes a year-long gap in his memory and an inability to separate his horrific hallucinations from real life. As he fights to regain the fragments of his old life, Stephen begins to realize the truth is more frightening than anything he could imagine.”
Stare of Consciousness is directed by Marcus Stokes from a screenplay co-written by Guillaume Tunzini, Dikran Ornekian, and Rylend Grant. Joining Hirsch are Tatjana Nardone, Kesia Elwin, Robin Mugnani, David Wurawa, and Michael E. Rodgers. It is executive produced by Joy Libardoni, Danielle Maloni, Alessandro Riccardi and Andrea Zoso.
