Donald Glover and Caleb McLaughlin both play 21 Savage in the first trailer for American Dream: The 21 Savage Story.
Posted on 21 Savage’s YouTube page, the American Dream: The 21 Savage Story trailer sees Glover and McLaughlin both play 21 Savage, who also stars as himself in the upcoming biopic releasing in July 2024.

What else do we know about American Dream: The 21 Savage Story?
According to Variety, the movie will tell the true story of how 21 Savage was arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in 2019. Variety’s description reads, “As part of then-president Trump’s crackdown on undocumented citizens, Savage — who was raised in Atlanta but was born in the U.K. — was arrested by ICE in 2019, held for several weeks and threatened with deportation, but the ‘Free 21 Savage’ campaign ultimately led to his release and ability to remain in the country.”

American Dream: The 21 Savage Story is directed by Stephen Glover (Donald’s brother), Jamal Olori, Fam Udeorji, and Luis Perez, with the script coming from Stephen Glover and Olori. Tara Razavi and Fam Udeorji both serve as producers and excutive producers on the film.
The film also features “special appearances” from Gail Bean (Snowfall, The Belko Experiment), Druski (Praise This), Jabari Banks (Bel-Air), Chad Lindberg (The Fast and the Furious, Star Trek: Picard), Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Bly Manor, You), Young Mazino (Beef), and Natasha Lyonne (But I’m a Cheerleader, Poker Face).
American Dream: The 21 Savage Story releases in theaters on July 4, 2024.
