The first Beverly Hills Cop 4 trailer for the Eddie Murphy-led Netflix sequel has dropped, giving fans a taste of the action-comedy series’ comeback. The fourth film, now titled Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, will be released through the streaming platform in summer 2024.
“Detective Axel Foley is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she and Foley team up with a new partner and old pals Billy Rosewood and John Taggart to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy,” reads the film’s synopsis.

Who directed Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F?
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is directed by Mark Molloy from a screenplay written by Will Beall, Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten, based on the characters created by Danilo Bach and Daniel Petrie, Jr. Joining Murphy in the newest installment are Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinchot and Kevin Bacon. It is executive produced by Ray Angelic, Charisse Hewitt-Webster, and Lorenzo Di Bonaventura. Producers are Murphy, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, and Melissa Reid
The original Beverly Hills Cop was released in 1984 and starred Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, a cop from Detroit who visits Beverly Hills, California, to solve the murder of his best friend. The film was a smash hit, earning more than $300 million at the box office and even earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. The film also spawned two sequels, which were released in 1987 and 1994, but didn’t receive the praise or box office success of the original.
