The first Rebel Moon clip from the upcoming first installment to Zack Snyder’s newest sci-fi epic franchise has been released. Part One: A Child of Fire will start streaming on December 21 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Netflix.
The 3-minute video shows Sofia Boutella’s Kora recruiting Staz Nair’s Tarak to join her and her crew in their impending fight against the forces of the Mother World. To win his freedom from a debt, Tarak must tame a wild Griffin-like creature.

What to expect in Rebel Moon?
“A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius,” reads the film’s synopsis. “The desperate civilians dispatch Kora, a young woman who has a mysterious past, to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them challenge the regent.”
Described as a fantasy epic, Rebel Moon is directed by Snyder from a screenplay he is co-writing with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad, based on a story by Snyder and Johnstad. It stars Sofia Boutella as Kora, Ed Skrein as Admiral Atticus Noble, Charlie Hunnam as Kai, Michiel Huisman as Gunnar, Djimon Hounsou as General, Staz Nair as Tarak, Doona Bae as Nemesis, Ray Fisher as Darrian Bloodaxe, and newcomer E. Duffy as Milius, with Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins as the voice of an ancient robot knight named Jimmy.
