Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed the first official trailer for George Miller‘s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
The trailer pits a young Imperator Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) against the villainous Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). “As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus,” an official synopsis reads. “Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a prequel to Fury Road
Miller directs Furiosa from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nico Lathouris. The film is due to arrive next year as the fifth big-screen entry in Miller’s Mad Max franchise. It serves as a spin-off and prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. That film starred Charlize Theron as Furiosa opposite Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky, Nicholas Hoult as Nux, and the late Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe.
In addition to Taylor-Joy and Hemsworth, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga stars Tom Burke, Alyla Browne, Quaden Bayles, Daniel Webber, and Lachy Hulme. Additionally, Mad Max: Fury Road stars Nathan Jones and Angus Sampson reprise their roles as Rictus Erectus and The Organic Mechanic, respectively.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga opens in theaters nationwide on May 24, 2024. The film arrives internationally on May 22, 2024.
