Neon has dropped the official Perfect Days trailer for its upcoming slice-of-life drama, which hails from director Wim Wenders.
The Tokyo-set movie had its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where it won two awards including the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and Best Actor Award for Koji Yakusho. The trailer comes ahead of its one-week theatrical run at the Angelika Film Center, starting this Friday, November 10. It will then be followed by a wide release sometime in 2024.

What is Perfect Days about?
“In the film, Hirayama is content with his simple life cleaning toilets in Tokyo,” reads the synopsis. “Outside of his structured routine he cherishes music on cassette tapes, books, and taking photos of trees. Unexpected encounters reveal more of his story in a deeply moving and poetic reflection on finding beauty in the world around us.”
Perfect Days is directed by German filmmaker Wim Wenders from a screenplay he co-wrote with Takuma Takasaki. The film stars Kôji Yakusho, Tokio Emoto, Yumi Asô, Aoi Yamada, and Arisa Nakano. It has also been chosen as the Japan’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film at the upcoming Academy Awards.
