Warner Bros. has released the Blue Beetle opening minutes to mark the digital release of DC Studios’ latest superhero movie. This comes after over a month since its theatrical release, which failed to meet box office expectations by only earning a worldwide gross of $125 million against a reported budget of $104 million. Despite its disappointing box office results, Blue Beetle still received positive reviews from critics, who are praising Xolo Maridueña’s leading performance.
The 10-minute clip opens with the introduction of the film’s main antagonists including Susan Sarandon’s Victoria Kord and Raoul Max Trujillo’s Ignacio Carapax. It also shows Maridueña’s Jaime Reyes returning back home to Palmera City after graduating from college.
