Red, White & Royal Blue Clips Tease Amazon’s Next Romantic Comedy Movie

Three Red, White & Royal Blue clips from Amazon Studios’ upcoming film adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s 2019 bestselling novel have been released, featuring Taylor Zakhar Perez’s Alex Claremont-Diaz and Nicholas Galitzine’s Prince Henry. The romantic comedy will be available for streaming on August 11 — exclusively on Prime Video.

The clips tease the unlikely pair’s relationship progress throughout the movie, as they unexpectedly find themselves in an enemies-to-lovers situation. After hating each other for so long, they’ll finally have the chance to bond with each other following a cake incident.

Who is Red, White & Royal Blue about?

“Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and Britain’s Prince Henry have a lot in common: Stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity … and a total disdain for each other,” reads the synopsis. “Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous—and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in U.S./British relations at the worst possible time. Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the two rivals into a staged “truce.” But as Alex and Henry’s icy relationship unexpectedly begins to thaw into a tentative friendship, the friction that existed between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected.”

Red, White & Royal Blue is directed and executive produced by Tony winner Matthew López from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ted Malawer. The film also stars Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, with Stephen Fry and Uma Thurman, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Aneesh Sheth, and Juan Castano.

The film is executive produced by McQuiston, Michael Riley McGrath, and Michael S. Constable, with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter serving as producers. Amazon Studios first acquired the rights to the novel back in 2019.
