A brand new Barbie video for Warner Bros.‘ highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of the iconic Mattel toyline has been released, featuring the creative team and main cast, including Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, praising director Greta Gerwig’s vision.
The video shows behind-the-scenes footage highlighting Gerwig’s fun moments on set. According to the acclaimed filmmaker, her adaptation is about Barbie becoming human and being human. “I wanted to paint in big beautiful broad strokes and build this crazy world, and have it be funny, and real, and relatable,” she said. “I just want people to feel joyful.”

What to Expect in Barbie?
“To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re a Ken,” reads the synopsis.
The film stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Hari Nef, Will Ferrell, Helen Mirren, Dua Lipa and more. It will also feature music from multiple artists including Billie Eilish, Nicki Minaj, Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Ice Spice, and K-Pop girl group Fifty Fifty.
Barbie is directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Greta Gerwig from a screenplay she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach. It is produced by Robbie and Tom Ackerly for LuckyChap and Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner, along with Josey McNamara and Ynon Kreiz.
