Netflix has released The Deepest Breath trailer for A24’s upcoming diving documentary, centering around the extreme sport of free diving. The video highlights the thrills and danger of the sport, as well as the relationship between a champion freediver and an expert safety diver. The film will be available for streaming on July 19.
“The setting and emotional power of this story is what initially drew me into wanting to make this documentary,” Lauren McGann said in a statement. “Filming around the world and with the remarkable subjects at the heart of The Deepest Breath has been the most inspirational and rewarding experience of my career.

Who’s Involved in The Deepest Breath?
The Deepest Breath is directed by Laura McGann. It is executive produced by Bart Layton, Ben Cotner, Emily Osborne, and Adriana Banta, with John Battsek, Sarah Thomson, Jamie D’Alton, Anne McLoughlin, and Robert Ford set as producers. It hails from A24, Motive Films, Ventureland, and RAW.

The documentary film features footage filmed from all over the world, including Long Island, New York; the Bahamas; Rome; the West Coast of Ireland, and more. It had its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
