Wild Eye Releasing dropped the official trailer for Mega Ape, a sci-fi thriller about a genetically engineered ape starring the late Tom Sizemore. Mega Ape premieres on demand and digital on September 12.
The trailer teases footage of the titular ape’s escape, who eventually grows into a giant primate. Set in Los Angeles, the mega ape embarks on a war path of destruction as it wreaks havoc on the entire city. Everyone from local law enforcement to the armed forces will take their best shot to stop the ape from destroying the city before it’s too late.

Who is Involved in Mega Ape?
Mega Ape stars Sizemore in one of his final film roles. Sizemore suffered a brain aneurysm in February 2023. Unfortunately, Sizemore never recovered and died on March 3, 2023, at the age of 61.
Besides Sizemore, the Mega Ape cast includes Jonathan Nation (Circus Kane), Bai Ling (The Crow), Mel Novak (Game of Death), Vida Ghaffari (Apex Predators), Erik Anthony Russo (Cocaine Cougar), and Traci Burr (Space Sharks).
The official synopsis: “A team of animal rights activists unknowingly release a genetically engineered ape from a top secret research facility, who soon grows to enormous size and embarks on a rampage of total destruction in Hollywood.”
Mega Ape is directed by Dustin Ferguson (Apex Predators). Mega Ape stems from Wild Eye Releasing, the studio behind Amityville in Space, The Amazing Bulk, Sharkenstein, Jurassic Shark, and Sharkula.
