Hulu has released the first teaser trailer for Searchlight Pictures’ satire comedy film titled Not Okay, starring Zoey Deutch and Dylan O’Brien. It is scheduled to make its debut on July 29, exclusively on Hulu.
The Not Okay teaser, which you can check out below, highlights a young woman’s desperate quest for fame and a social life. It follows one of her latest attempts to gain a following by faking a trip to Paris. However, because of an unfortunate event, she suddenly finds herself in the middle of everyone’s attention. Instead of immediately being honest about her whereabouts, she uses the opportunity to capitalize on a tragedy in hopes of becoming famous.

Not Okay stars Zoey Deutch (Before I Fall, Buffaloed), Dylan O’Brien (Love and Monsters), Mia Isaac (Don’t Make Me Go), Embeth Davidtz (Matilda), Nadia Alexander (The Sinner), Tia Donne Hodge (The Land of Steady Habits), Negin Farsad (High Maintenance), Karan Soni (Deadpool), and Dash Perry.
“Danni Sanders, an aimless aspiring writer with no friends, no romantic prospects and — worst of all — no followers, fakes an Instagram-friendly trip to Paris in the hopes of boosting her social media clout,” reads the synopsis. “When a terrifying incident strikes the City of Lights, Danni unwittingly falls into a lie bigger than she ever imagined. She ‘returns’ a hero, even striking up an unlikely friendship with Rowan, a school-shooting survivor dedicated to societal change, and scooping up the man of her dreams Colin. As an influencer and advocate, Danni finally has the life and audience she always wanted. But it’s only a matter of time before the facade cracks, and she learns the hard way that the Internet loves a takedown.”
