Greenwich Films has announced that the French comedic road movie My Donkey, My Lover, & I will be getting a U.S. release on June 17, 2022.

My Donkey, My Lover, & I stars Laure Calamy, Benjamin Lavernhe, and Olivie Côte, and is written and directed by Caroline Vignal. The film was an official selection at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, and also earned Calamy the Best Actress César Award for her role in the film.
My Donkey, My Lover, & I will open in New York on June 17, 2022 at the Angelika Film Center, before heading to Los Angeles and opening on June 24, 2022. A national expansion is set for after the Los Angeles opening, although it’s unclear how many theaters the film will show in.

“Primary school teacher Antoinette (Laure Calamy) is elated about her upcoming vacation with her married lover, Vladimir (Benjamin Lavernhe), but their plans are upended when his wife books a surprise hiking trip,” reads the official synopsis for the film. “On an impulse, Antoinette heads to the same mountainous region of the Cévennes National Park, with an itinerary inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic 1878 memoir Travels with a Donkey in the Cévennes.”
