Lionsgate has revealed the official American Underdog trailer for the forthcoming biographical sports drama, centering around the inspirational story of how Kurt Warner became the NFL champion he’s known as today. Starring Zachary Levi, The film is slated to hit theaters on Saturday, December 25.
The video teases the challenges that Kurt Warner had to face before becoming a football champion. It also highlights the relationship between Warner and his wife, who has been very supportive of his dreams since the beginning.

American Underdog is based on interviews with Warner and his memoir titled, All Things Possible: My Story of Faith, Football and the First Miracle Season. It will be led by Zachary Levi, Anna Paquin, and Dennis Quaid. Joining them are Cindy Hogan, Ser’Darius Blain, Adam Baldwin, Bruce McGill, Danny Vinson, Chance Kelly, Hayden Zaller, Cora Kate Wilkerson, and Nic Harris.

American Underdog is directed by The Erwin Brothers, from a screenplay written by Jon Erwin, David Aaron Cohen, and Jon Gunn. Kurt and Brenda Warner are executive producing along with Tony Young, Jon Gunn, and Sean Devereaux. Producers are Kevin Downes, Jon Erwin, Andrew Erwin, Mark Ciardi, and Daryl Lefever.
