Dog Trailer: Channing Tatum Leads & Directs MGM’s Buddy Comedy

MGM has revealed the official Dog trailer for the forthcoming buddy comedy film, starring Channing Tatum, who is also co-directing with Reid Carolin. The video, which you can check out below along with the poster, features a former Army Ranger as he goes on a road trip with a misbehaving former Army dog named Lulu in order to attend the funeral of Lulu’s former partner.

The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 18, 2022. Its current theatrical release will pit the film against high-profile competition in the form of Sony Pictures’ Tom Holland-led Uncharted, Paramount Pictures’ long-delayed animated pic Rumble, and Universal Pictures’ action thriller Ambulance starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Dog is a buddy comedy that follows the misadventures of two former Army Rangers paired against their will on the road trip of a lifetime,” reads the synopsis. “Army Ranger Briggs and Lulu (a Belgian Malinois dog) buckle into a 1984 Ford Bronco and race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to a fellow soldier’s funeral on time. Along the way, they’ll drive each other completely crazy, break a small handful of laws, narrowly evade death, and learn to let down their guards in order to have a fighting chance of finding happiness.”
