Netflix has released the first Wendell & Wild teaser for the forthcoming stop-motion animated horror comedy film, which hails from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline director. The video, which you can check out below, introduces us to the titular demon brothers, who are set to be voiced by acclaimed comedic duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele. The film is expected to make its debut sometime in 2022.

Wendell & Wild is directed by Henry Selick, who is best known for his work on acclaimed stop-motion animated films such as Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and James and the Giant Peach. Described as a dark fantasy horror-comedy, the film is co-written by Selick and Oscar winner Jordan Peele (Get Out).
“Two demon brothers escape the Underworld and find themselves in a town where they must evade a demon-duster teenager, Kat, who is trying to destroy them,” reads the synopsis.
First announced in 2018, the project has enlisted Argentian artist Pablo Lobato for its character designs. Producers are Selick, Peele, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, and Sarah Serata. It is executive produced by Win Rosenfeld for Monkeypaw, Peter Principato and Joel Zadak for Principato-Young, Lindsay Williams and Eddie Gamarra for The Gotham Group

Wendell & Wild marks the latest collaboration between Key and Peele, who have gained recognition through their titular Comedy Central sketch comedy show. They’ve both provided voice works on animated films such as 2016’s Storks, and 2019’s Toy Story 4.
