ComingSoon is excited to debut the Set! trailer for the upcoming discovery+ documentary centered around table setting.

Directed by Scott Gawlik, the film focuses on the intense Orange County Fair table setting competition. It’s set to release November 12 on the streamer. It was an official selection at Hot Docs 2021 and the Newport Beach Film Festival.

“Once a year, a group of feverishly determined table setters vie for the ‘Best of Show’ ribbon at the Orange County Fair table setting competition,” explains the official synopsis. “Often referred to as ‘The Olympics of Table Setting,’ contestants can spend over 6 months preparing their table to compete and ultimately be judged. A mere misplaced soup spoon can mean the end for an otherwise perfect table. But like any competition, it is not without its dramatics. Old rivalries, controversy, and eccentric personalities come to a head as Set! explores topics far beyond the silverware.”
Also premiering the same day as Set! on discovery+ is Table Wars, a tablescaping competition. The series will feature eight top event designers looking to impress lead judge Martha Stewart, host of the show Tamera Mowry-Housley, and fellow judge Chris Hessney. “During each episode, the competitors must design and install the ultimate themed dining environment that features stunning tablescapes, centerpieces, lighting and displays that will wow the judges and avoid elimination,” explains Discovery.
